World's First Christian Dog

by Elroy Willis -- September 3, 1999

MIAMI (EAP) -- A Miami man claims to own the world's first Christian dog, a 10-year-old German Shepherd named Max, who prays to God on a daily basis.

George Walters, 45, claims that Max has a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Walters says that when he reads his Bible each day, he speaks out loud, and Max has learned the words of the scriptures, and was saved by Jesus as a result.

"After reading out loud for about a year, Max started mimicking me when I was on my knees by my bedside praying to Jesus. Max puts his front paws up on the bed, and closes his eyes while I'm praying to Jesus," Walters said.

"At first, I thought he was just imitating me, but two years ago, when I came home from work, I found Max at my bedside, praying to Jesus. He didn't even acknowledge me when I came home like he usually does. I had to shout out his name to get him to come away from the bed."

Walters claims that this is proof positive that the Lord has blessed his pet dog, and says that Max will be right along his side in Heaven when they die, and says he can't wait for God to pet Max, and for Max to lick the feet of God.

"I hope God is bare footed, or at least wears sandals in Heaven," Walters said.

"Max just loves licking toes, so it'd be a shame if God wore shoes in Heaven."
